Field Day was another success this year. Kalyn and her classmates had a fun time and we all really liked the way it was done this year. They had an opening lap where all of us...students, teachers, and parents...ran together. It was fun! After that was a fun, but CRAZY ice breaker where all the students took their tennis shoes off and threw them into a huge pile on the football field. Then all the teachers mixed them up and scattered them all over the field...each student had to find their shoes. It was pretty chaotic to say the least. :) Then the morning events with different rotations began....instead of each class going from rotation to rotation together, they split everyone up into smaller groups to do "team building" events. It was good for everyone to be with different classmates for a change!! A snack of watermelons and oranges was enjoyed in the middle of all of that then it was lunchtime and running events commenced soon afterwards. Kalyn ran the hurdles and won 1st place then she did the 400m relay and her team got 2nd place. That's my girl...a future track star in the making!! :o)
