Happy Halloween!!
Kalyn and Sheldon woke up this morning excited to see what treats they had in their jack-o-laterns. Each kiddo got a Halloween shirt to wear for the day, a cute stuffed animal in a costume, and a cute plate to put their breakfast on. Of course, Ryder didn't care too much...ha! :o) This evening Pat (my mother in law) and I took all three kids to Lexington for some trick-or-treating fun. Ricky couldn't go with us because he had his tooth pulled this morning and was in quite a bit pain. Anyway, as I have mentioned in previous posts over the years, Lexington had 2 streets closed for trick-or-treating only. There were SO MANY people...I think we saw everyone!! It was great fun and the kids enjoyed it!!

Harvest Party
Last year's Halloween party was such a hit that we decided to do it again this year. I had people tell me I was crazy for doing that right after having a baby, but I had lots of help thanks to my mother-in-law, Pat, and wonderful friend, Bonnie! Another wonderful friend, Katy, was supposed to help but got stuck at home with a sick baby...bummer!! We had a wonderful turnout and had fun seeing all the kids and some adults arrive in costume. Pumpkin carving, apple bobbing, visiting, and eating was enjoyed by all! Ricky led a short devotional for the kids and did a great job as always...so proud of my hubby! Next year's party is already in the works...

Red Ribbon Week
Lexington ISD kicked off their annual Red Ribbon Week with a pep rally last Friday at the football stadium. Kalyn's squad did a cheer which was really cute and there were a few speeches given by the athletes to encourage all students to say NO to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc. I was really impressed and proud of the football players when one of them told the crowd that he did not drink or do drugs...he was really passionate about it and made sure to tell everyone especially the little kids how cool it is NOT to do drugs or drink. We need more teenagers like him who are not afraid to say that!
This week started out with another small rally at the elementary school on Monday morning. Kalyn and her squad did another cheer as well. Like in past years, each day this week had a theme which allowed students to dress up for school...so fun! Kalyn and Sheldon really enjoyed doing this and came up with their own outfits each morning. They are really growing up SO fast!!!

Pumpkin Carvin' Night
Kalyn and Sheldon were really eager to carve our pumpkin by themselves this year. Ricky cut out the top then I helped the kids clean out the inside. They really worked as a team in deciding what kind of face to draw on the pumpkin and took turns cutting the pieces out. The end product was great and the kids were so proud of themselves. Ryder even joined us at the table for a little while...I'm sure he will be getting right into all the mess next year!! :o)

Overdue visit to Llano
With Kalyn cheering every weekend since school started we were not able to go out of town until this weekend. We decided to go to Llano to see my grandfather in the hospital and introduce Ryder to family members who hadn't seen him yet. Kalyn and Sheldon were so excited when they found out that my sister and her kids would be there as well...yippee for some fun with cousins!! Ryder did very well with his first road trip and met several people. It was a very relaxing weekend for all...we are so blessed!

Kalyn had her fifth game today in Elgin...it was a fun one! Kalyn's other set of grandparents from Schertz came to watch her as well as her aunt, uncle and cousin from Illinois! It was so good to see them all and we had a great time just visiting. Kalyn enjoyed having them watch her cheer and did a great job as usual...GO EAGLES!!!

1 week old already!!
We are LOVING our new family of five!!Even though we have lost quite a bit of sleep, Ryder has brought so much more laughter and joy into our lives...so fun!! Kalyn and Sheldon love to hold their little brother and vice versa...Ryder really seems to "listen" to their voices when they are around. It has been so much fun to see Ricky experience fatherhood for the first time and he is doing an awesome job!! Thank you God for blessing our precious family!! Hope you enjoy just a few of the many pictures below that we took of Ryder's first week at home! :o)
