~Country Livin'~: Happy Halloween!!

I think we like Halloween more each year it comes around! Most of it has to do with the two FUN activities with our church family which took place over the past weekend. The first activity was Spook Trail which was combined with the youth from Brenham church of Christ. It starts out with a hay ride and the "headless woman" riding on a horse, then a spook trail with scare stations created by different members from both churches, and finally a hot dog supper and a devo. FUN times!!! Ricky did a scare station and really got a kick out of scaring some poor kiddos...ha! The second activity we had was the Harvest Party at our house the next day. This year the whole congregation was invited to come out to our house in costume ready for some fun. We had quite a turn out and everyone had a really good time carving pumpkins, bobbing for apples, and eating yummy food. Ricky gave a great devo about the different masks we wear in our lives and how we need to get rid of them...he did a great job! All the kids of course just had fun being in costume and playing all over the place. We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful church family at Murray Street church of Christ!! With today being Halloween, we took the kids trick-or-treating after church. Kalyn was Katniss Everdeen from "The Hunger Games", Sheldon was a SWAT guy, and Ryder was a rooster. They all looked great!! We didn't have much luck trick-or-treating since most houses were out of candy by 8pm. We were bummed, but still had a good time!! Until next year....
