We had fun celebrating Kalyn's birthday!! It all started last Monday when Pappa and Nanna Springer made a surprise visit to see the birthday girl (and Sheldon too). I wish I got a picture of the kids' faces when they saw who walked in the door..they were so excited! We all enjoyed visiting with Pappa and Nanna...thank you for stopping by. Kalyn has loved playing with her Breyer veterinarian kit and has read alot in her new Little House on the Prairie book already.
Last Friday five of Kalyn's girlfriends came home with us after school for Kalyn's "High School Musical" party. Boy, it was WILD around here with all the girls singing and dancing! It was alot of fun to watch them interact with each other. It was bittersweet for me to see how much Kalyn has really grown up. The girls had fun with the karaoke and dancing contest, showing off their cartwheels outside, and just being girls! Ricky was so glad he wasn't here until the very end-ha! ;o) Thanks Mimi for helping me...you were a lifesaver! 
After the girls left (whew) we had a delicious supper at Mimi's house before my parents showed up. Kalyn and Sheldon were so excited about Granden and Oni spending the night with us. Ricky and I cooked a big breakfast for Kalyn's birthday the next morning. Kalyn wanted cinnamon rolls, eggs, bacon, and sausage...we were full! We let Kalyn open the rest of her presents from other family members. She got alot of money and we are looking forward to going shopping very soon! ;o) Our gift was saved for last...Kalyn had been wanting an American Girl doll for awhile now so the moment had finally come for her to meet her new friend. The doll was just what Kalyn wanted and she has played with her all weekend...her name is Kassidy. They are best friends!
Whew...what a full weekend we had! It was so much fun, but it sure is nice to be able to REST now...wonder what next year will be like? Hopefully not a slumber party just yet!! Here is something I have loved watching over and over again...GIRLS JUST HAVING FUN!!! Enjoy!!
