Spring is HERE...Updates

Spring has always been my favorite time of the year. I love seeing things come alive again after a long winter. Green grass and leaves, flowers blooming, butterflies, birds, etc..... I am sad not to be able to see all the wildflowers this Spring...bluebonnets are my favorite!!

Here are some updates of what we have been up to the last few weeks:

Ricky and I have been working in our garden and have pretty much gotten everything planted. We decided to plant several things this year to see what kind of luck we will have. Here is a list of just a few things we have planted so far: onion, potato, cucumber, zucchini, yellow squash, tomato, jalapeno, cilantro, broccoli, cabbage, sweet corn, green beans, black-eyed peas, watermelon, cantaloupe, gourds, carrot....and more!! Pat, Ricky's mom, planted some flowers in our garden as well. She even planted sunflower seeds just for me because I love them...thanks Pat!! We are very excited!! ;o) Now we just water, weed, and wait.....

While the kids were in Baytown during Spring Break Ricky and I worked in our yard. I used the blower to blow the MILLIONS of leaves out of the yard(I'm still not done!) and Ricky made a cactus garden for me (will post pictures later). We also used the rocks we brought from Llano to build a flowerbed on the side of the house. It looks great...and there are whopper strawberries growing in it! Ricky says they are known to grow to about the size of a peach?! We won't know until next year......

Our baby chicks are doing great....they are growing so fast! I've included before and after pictures of them so you can see how much they have grown. We have moved them to a bigger coop now. You can see how much the kids enjoy holding them...they're really cute! ;o)

This week

The treehouse is still in progress...pictures to come later. The kids continue to enjoy playing in it and are anxious for it to be completed soon. Kalyn will have her own "floor" while Sheldon's fort will be on the top...I think!
