School's OUT!!!

1st grade came and went! I can't believe Kalyn is now officially a 2nd grader!! She had a wonderful year and we are very proud of her accomplishments. We had quite a few of end of school events during the last couple weeks. Thank you Mrs. Robertson for a wonderful year!

First there was the end of school musical..it was really cute! The theme was 50's Rock 'n Roll. Each class sang a song from the 50's and the kids all dressed up. Kalyn really enjoyed getting dressed up and singing with her friends. She has always loved to sing and it was wonderful to watch her enjoy herself up on stage.

Then there was the end of school awards ceremony. Kalyn got several certificates and was recognized for several things... Reading Award for meeting her goal in AR, Extra Effort Award for going 25% over her goal in AR, Reading Achievement Certificate for 1.5 years growth in STAR Reading, Certificate in Excellence for being in the top 15 for STAR Reading, and Mathematics Achievement Award for being in the top 15 for STAR Math. Kalyn was also picked along with a few others for the Citizenship Certificate for 1st grade! WAY TO GO, KALYN! We are so proud of you and can't wait to see what 2nd grade holds for you!

Finally, Kalyn had her end of school party! What fun we had!!! The theme was Hawaiian luau and the kids had fun wearing leis and decorated visors. A few dads cooked burgers and we played limbo, had a water balloon fight, and a bean bag toss contest. It was a great way to end the year.
