We got to go back to the beach! We met up with my parents and Carie's family in Port Aransas for Labor Day. We started the weekend off by picking the kids up early from school (they loved that) and got to the condo around 4pm. My parents and Carie's family arrived soon after. The kids were HYPER...so excited to see each other again! We went to Moby Dick's for some good seafood...it's a neat place full of pirates. After we figured out the sleeping arrangements, the kids were out fast...the adults stayed up and played a game called Imaginiff (well, except for Ricky who said he was too tired~ha!) We had lots of good laughs!!
After a big breakfast on Saturday morning, we headed to the beach for some sun, sand, and fun in the water. Even Carie started a big sand fight...it was so fun! :o) After the beach we headed to the pool to relax then the rest of the afternoon everyone napped except the older kids and the girls. It was great to just talk with mom and Carie while the kids played. On Saturday night we had hamburgers and played Imaginiff again...this time with Ricky! It was great!
Daddy led a family devotional on Sunday morning after breakfast...the kids participated and it was really special. It warms my heart to see their love for God growing as they get older. After our devo, we headed to the beach for more fun! Sheldon and Colten caught some waves on our boogie boards and Kalyn stayed busy entertaining Cambry. Watching Kalyn was like watching myself through my own eyes...she reminds me so much of myself when I was her age. I decided to build sand castles which was fun and relaxing for me...I was bummed when everyone was ready to go to the pool! For supper we went to the Pelican Landing and waited FOREVER for our food...but it was well worth the wait because it was so good! We will definitely be going back there next year!
Monday came too quickly and we were sad to leave...well, except for Ricky who was ready to get back to the country. Figures! Thank you mom and dad for such a fun weekend and we are all so blessed to have you in our lives. Now, let's start planning next year's family trip!
