Happy Birthday Precious Kalyn Leigh

It seems like just yesterday I was laying in the hopsital bed at Wilford Hall on Lackland AFB. I remember your daddy and me being excited the night before knowing that I would be induced the next day (you were TEN days late) and I would finally be able to hold my precious little girl in my arms. However, you had other plans. You decided to make me go into labor on my own at 3 am in the morning! Your daddy had to take a big test that morning so he left me at home for a little while (the contractions weren't too bad yet) and I took a shower and got ready to go to the hospital. Granden, Oni, and Aunt Carie arrived not too long after your daddy left and they did everything they could to keep my mind off the contractions until it was time to go to the hospital. Your daddy finished his test earlier than he expected so we got to the hospital around lunchtime or a little before. By that time the contractions were really starting to HURT quite a bit...I quickly asked for the epidural! The nurses got me all settled in my room and got me hooked up to IVs and I got my epidural...I was happy! We spent the whole afternoon and evening just visiting with family and friends who came to see us at the hospital while we waited for you to be born. Finally around 10pm I was told to start pushing because you were FINALLY ready to come out! At 10:53 you were born and placed into my arms...I fell in love with you immediately and thanked God for blessing me with such a precious beautiful baby girl. Precious Kalyn, my life was forever changed when I became your mother and today NINE years later I feel even more blessed than I did when you were born. It has given me great joy to watch you grow into the beautiful, smart, and sweet nine year old girl you are today. Your smile is contagious and your sweet heart and spirit make you one of the best people I have ever known. God has huge plans for your life and I am so proud of how you have come to rely on Him for guidance and support. Daddy Ricky and I pray daily that God will continue to bless you in ways you would never imagine! I love you all the way to the moon and back...Happy 9th Birthday!!

All my love,
Mom
