Ricky and I decided that we would take all three kids on our very first family vacation this summer. In the past we have gone on vacations with family members or friends...never just us. We both also agreed that the kids (particularly Kalyn and Sheldon) are growing up so much that it was time to go somewhere before they were grown up. I am S-O-O-O glad we did because it was just awesome! After researching and asking around we made the decision to go to Estes Park, CO for our family vacation this year. Since there are so many pictures I have decided to just break up our trip into a few days and write about what we did (so I won't forget later when I scrapbook this awesome vacation!). If you notice the date on this post doesn't make sense with what I've just said it's just because I changed it to the actual date to coordinate with the pictures better! :o)
Wednesday, June 27th....
Yesterday the older kids helped Ricky wash my van and got it all shiny and clean for our trip. We all packed our stuff and loaded the van throughout the day today. As soon as Ricky finished work, we got into the van and were well on our way! We drove to Oklahoma. Ricky and I decided earlier this week that we wanted to take the shortest route out of Texas and see other states along the way. It was not a bad drive at all...stopped in Waco for supper (Cracker Barrel) then drove to Ardmore, OK where we stopped for the night. Kalyn and Sheldon were really excited to cross the state line for the very first time so we took a picture of them by the Oklahoma sign...think we'll do this for every state we visit now!! :o) I changed Ryder into his pajamas before we left Waco and he slept most of the way to OK...he was so good! Tomorrow we'll be up early ready to drive allll day!!!!
