Deer Season

**Just A WARNING...the first picture below might offend some city folks! :o)**

Hunting is one of Ricky's favorite things to do. I really enjoy it too when I am able to go with him. When I was a little girl I LOVED going with my Papa to the hog farm to hunt. I remember him letting me pull the trigger on a buck one year...I was so proud and excited!! Nowdays I just go to sit and watch...it is relaxing to me to just be still and watch.

Ricky shot his first deer for this season a couple weekends ago with his bow...a small doe. I fried some venison the following Tuesday and it was YUMMY!! We absolutely love that meal!!! Ricky's favorite breakfast meal is biscuits and fried venison with gravy...go figure.

Since bow season is now over and rifle season has begun we have been working on the deer stand that Ricky built several years ago. It was about to fall over due to the cows knocking it off the cement blocks. While Ricky and I secured the deer stand, the kids enjoyed just playing around in the pasture and Kalyn took a few great pictures of the scenery. It was a beautiful day!

Kalyn took this pic--if you click on it you can see the boys on the 4-wheeler coming across the dam

Another pic taken by Kalyn of the boys as they drove past us

The picture below is one Kalyn took of the oat field right in front of the deer feeder. Hopefully in the next few weeks there will be a nice 8-point buck waiting for Ricky. :o)

Happy hunting this season!!!
