1st Day of School

Our summer was awesome and went by oh so fast with all the fun we had. I don't think things really slowed down any until today...ha! Last week we were busy with dental appointments, football practice, fun visits from grandparents, and unfortunately visiting Ricky's grandfather in the hospital after a bad car wreck (he broke his neck, back, and sternum...doing better but has a long road to recovery). Kalyn and Sheldon got to have some fun with their friends for two nights so they wouldn't have to sit in the hospital with us all day...a huge thank you to the Warrens and Smiths! Last night both kids went to bed anxious to see their friends and teachers which is unusual from past years. They hardly gave me any fuss about going back to school and it was soooo nice this morning to start out the day like just any normal school day would. Of course we had to do the traditional "1st day" pictures before leaving the house and again at school. Kalyn is in 5th grade with Mrs. Campbell this year. It was bittersweet as I walked her to her class thinking that this would be her LAST first day in elementary school. Next year she will be at the junior high school...hard to believe! Oh how I remember those teary Kindergarten mornings!!  Sheldon is in 3rd grade with Ms. Johnson this year and is excited to be in the "other" building with the older grades. Hard to believe too! My babies are growing up way too fast!!! Praying for a wonderful school year for both of them full of lots of learning, fun, laughter, and memories!!!
