First Day of School-1st grade!

Kalyn is officially a 1st grader and I cannot tell you how HARD that is for me to believe! It makes me feel alot older now especially since I can remember myself as a first grader all those years ago!! I don't remember any of my Kindergarten days so this is the first experience to go through with Kalyn and remember so vividly what it was like for me...how weird! It seems like just yesterday we welcomed our precious Kalyn Leigh into this world. She has grown and matured so much since then and she has made us all very proud.

Kalyn woke up in a fantastic mood this morning and did very well...much better than we hoped she would (thanks to all of you who were praying for her!). Sheldon and I walked with her into her classroom and talked with the teacher for a few minutes. Kalyn was very brave as she fought back her tears when I hugged and kissed her goodbye. Other parents have told me how wonderful Kalyn's teacher is and we feel so blessed to have her this year. Another blessing is the fact that FOUR of Kalyn's close girlfriends are in her class this year...and one of them happens to go to our church as well! God is indeed watching out for Kalyn! What a comfort that is!

Here are a few comments from Miss Kalyn about her first day:
"Can you believe I didn't cry?!"
"I get to play on the big playground for recess!"
"We played games today and learned a new song/game about packing up"
"Malorie busted her chin bad at recess...it bled alot!"

My heart hurts- I can not believe she is that big! I remember when you used to come to the house while it was still dark outside to nurse her before going to work! She is soo pretty too. I'm glad she had a great first day!
