Christmas #1...in Llano

Kalyn and Sheldon went to their dad's in Pearland for Christmas this year. It was a very weird week for me, but I enjoyed some quality time alone and with Ricky in the evenings. We stayed up late almost every night watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel (well I did anyway). Ricky and I headed to Llano on Wednesday right after he got off work. It was C-O-L-D while we were there...it was just perfect. Ricky was in heaven when we had the "mini" blizzard for several hours early on Christmas Eve. He went hunting and came back with a turkey and a doe. Later in the afternoon Ricky went with my daddy to feed his cows. Ricky told me that my daddy looked like a rancher in Montana with the snow coming down so hard...wish he got a picture of that! Finally it was time to go to Granny and Papa's house for our annual Christmas with my mom's side of the family. Granny had a spread of mexican food...enchiladas, tacos, chips with dips, etc. My favorite part is always DESSERT...tons of cookies, fudge, and candy!!!! So yummy!! Kyndel and Michael drove straight from the airport (from their honeymoon) and joined us. It was great to see them and hear all about their trip. Soon after we ate it was time to take individual family pictures and open presents. Without our kids and Carie's family there this year there wasn't as much for us to haul back to the ranch!

Ricky went hunting again on Christmas morning while I slept and helped mom in the kitchen before we headed back to Granny and Papa's for lunch. Granny had the traditional Christmas dinner...ham, smoked turkey, dressing, green beans, etc....SO GOOD! Ricky and I enjoyed being with my family and just relaxing. It was what we needed before we headed back home for the next few Christmas get-togethers!
