SNOW makes everything all better!

Things have been really messed up around here since last Wednesday. The school called Ricky that morning to let me know Kalyn wasn't feeling well and needed to go home. She had a bad headache, aches, and chills. She started running a low grade temp later that afternoon. The next day she still had a fever and was sneezing and had the sniffles. I think it was just allergies because she felt better on Friday around lunchtime. Kalyn and Sheldon went to Pearland for the weekend to see their dad. They celebrated Kalyn's 8th birthday (coming up on the 28th) while they were there. On the way home Kalyn started throwing up and we found out her half-brother had been sick right before they arrived to their house on Friday. Sooo...Kalyn was pretty sick until almost midnight Sunday night and has spent the last two days recovering. I hate it that she had to miss several days of school in a row, but she was definitely not feeling good. She finally felt better around lunch time today...just in time for the snow!!

Thankfully Ricky was able to work from home today and we decided to get Sheldon from school around 1:30 so he could enjoy the snow with us. Mimi tagged along and we drove up North (Rockdale/Thorndale area) to see more snow in hopes we would find a place where we could actually build a snowman. It did snow a lot at our house, but not enough for us to really do much of anything with it. Anyway, we found a spot and we all had fun making a snowman, a snow angel, and throwing snowballs at each other. It was GREAT fun to watch the kids experience it and they had so much fun!!!

Thank you God for your many blessings over the last few days....

Being a stay-at-home mom, I was able to take care of my daughter with no worries.

Sheldon became confident in himself without needing his sister with him. He was a big boy about going to school for 4 days without Kalyn. Way to go!!

Kalyn and I had several good talks and enjoyed each other's company even though she was not feeling good.

As a little girl one of my biggest fears was throwing up. It was actually probably a phobia I had and I would NOT have anything to do with anyone who was sick. Just ask my sister~ha! Every now and then I still have some anxiety about it, but having kids has helped so much. I thought yesterday about how calm I was with Kalyn when she was so sick on Sunday night and I give God all the praise for helping me through that without having any anxiety. What a blessing and a huge relief to know I got through it without any thought to it!

We had been praying for some snow this winter and we finally got it...it was awesome to watch how God can make things look so beautiful.

Ricky was home with us today and we all got to make a memory together as a family.

I am so grateful!
