The 3rd-5th grade Field Day was held yesterday which Kalyn had been anxiously waiting for. My parents met me at the stadium first thing in the morning and waited for the kids to arrive on the buses. The schedule was different with this age group which we liked MUCH better than the younger group last week (Kinder-2nd grade). Kalyn said this year everyone had to "try out" for each event and the PE coaches put them in the events they did the best in. Kalyn's events were all running...400m relay, Medley relay, 50 yd and 100 yd dash, and hurdles. I have said several times before how much I LOVE to watch her run...she is so good! She came in 2nd in all her events except for the 400m relay which her team got 1st!! Kalyn got them off to a great start as she was ran the first leg...so proud of her!! Each class participated in the obstacle course and tug-o-war...Kalyn's class got 2nd place..whoo hoo!! We also enjoyed a good picnic lunch under one of the trees and got a good rest before we had to sit in the bleachers to watch the races. Thank you Oni and Granden for coming to spend the day and night with us...we loved every minute of it!!!
