We celebrated Ricky's birthday on May 3rd...he got Duck Dynasty DVDs from the kids and a gift certificate to get some mulch for his garden (he asked for it!). Ricky is a huge blessing to all of us and we love him so very much!!! Happy Birthday Daddy!

This month we also had Princess and Timothy class promotion on one Sunday night. It was a bittersweet night as Kalyn actually graduated from Princess class after six years. She learned so much and has grown into the sweet Christian girl we are so proud of. Sheldon also brought tears to my eyes as he conquered his fear of standing up in front of the congregation as he lead a song and led a prayer. It has always been a hard thing for him to do and he did so well. One VERY PROUD mama here!

During the second week of May, Kalyn's 5th grade class put on a talent show for the whole elementary school. Each student had the opportunity to participate if they wanted to and it was loads of fun to watch! There was everything from dancing, tumbling, singing, and comedy. Kalyn did the cha-cha slide with some of her friends then she also signed the song we learned for LTC with her friend Abigail who goes to church with us. They did so good! The 5th grade teachers also did their own skit which was hilarious...thank you Ms. Campbell, Ms. Selman, Mrs. Woodward, and Ms. Spencer for a WONDERFUL last year at Lexington Elementary for Kalyn and her classmates!! (sniff sniff)

On Mother's Day weekend I helped my mother-in-law with my niece's baby shower. It was fun to decorate and watch Lisa enjoy all the gifts she got from family and friends. Praying for a safe birth and a blessed life for Baby Natalia!!

Happy Mother's Day! I thank God everyday for the honor of being Kalyn, Sheldon, and Ryder's mommy. They all have taught me so much about life and bring so much fun and joy each day...even when we have not so good days! God has also blessed me with a beautiful, loving mom who loves me unconditionally as well as a wonderful mother-in-law who is also my friend!

The weekend after Mother's Day, I had a weekend away with my sister and girl cousins in Corpus Christi. It was so much fun!! Eight of us participated in the Beach to Bay relay marathon which was quite an experience. I started my training back in January and surprised myself in how much I enjoy to run now. My sister and I were on different teams, but we ran the same leg together which was neat. It was really hot and windy while we ran on the hot black pavement...but we did it! I'm already looking forward to the next time we can get away and do another race!

More baseball! With the school year winding down, we were still busy with ball games. I didn't mind that too much because I really do love to watch my boy play ball!

This year Kalyn and Sheldon had Field Day on the same day...hallelujah! My parents and the kids' dad's parents came to watch as well which was really fun. Kalyn did the hurdles (1st place), 100 meter dash (3rd place), long jump and the 400 meter relay twice (1st and 2nd place). Sheldon did the football throw (1st place), hurdles (3rd place), 400 meter relay (2nd place) and the 50 meter dash (2nd place). Field Day ended with the famous tug-of-war...Sheldon's team won! It was so much fun to watch both kids participate in their events and enjoy themselves.
